Jadon Sancho seems to be likely to wind up at Manchester United, says Jamie Redknapp, who had expected that Liverpool will be willing to negotiate a trade with the Borussia Dortmund winger. Sancho has shone for the German giants, collecting 20 goals and 28 assists in the last two seasons. Such experiments saw him feature on the recruiting radar of leading sides around Europe, with premier league heavyweight teams leading the push.

All Arch-rivals United and Liverpool were closely linked to efforts to obtain the signature of Sancho. Many believe the prospect will be a perfect match for the now and the future, with Jurgen Klopp and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the final third of the field still on the market for experienced stars. Redknapp had expected to see some jumping to the front of the line at Anfield but admits that Old Trafford seems to be a more probable landing spot.

The former Reds midfielder has told Sky Sports:- I guess it's time for Jadon Sancho to move to the Premier League. We're here of a veritable phenomenon. A professional who can do incredible things with the ball. Played 70 odd games in the Bundesliga, scored 27 goals from a rather strong large field.

We've lost out on the Major League likes of the Neymars so he should come and really light it up. I'd contact them directly. He's going to be a great signing for anyone that he goes to. I'd like to see him in Liverpool but I guess he'll end up in United though.

Redknapp isn't the first ex Red to say Liverpool will do anything practical to have Sancho on board.

Jamie Carragher says, in the context of prolific RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner, in the wake of ties to another Bundesliga star: Liverpool wants a good offensive player to arrive in the summer. Or Werner or Sancho? I would take them.
