Borussia Dortmund recorded a comfortable victory over Schalke in River Derby on Saturday under the German Bundesliga. Rafael Guerrero scored twice and Earling Holland and Thorgen Hazard scored 1-1 in Dortmund's 4-0 win at home.
In a closed stadium without supporters, Norwegian forward Erling Holland maintained his high pace and gave Dortmund an early lead. He scored in the 29th minute of the game. After Julian Brant's flick, Thorgen Hazard made a cross from the right-wing and Holland scored. He converted the first touch inside the penalty area.
Before that, Schalke had lost a golden opportunity to take the lead in the 26th minute. Daniel Caliguri's shot from inside the six-yard box was saved by goalkeeper Roman Burkey in the second attempt. Even in the seventh minute, Kalijuri's shot could not take the direction of the post.
In the 15th minute of the game, Dortmund's Rafael Guerrero's shot came from just outside the post. Soon after, Holland's shot from the left side of the penalty area did not give the goalkeeper a problem. Guerrero's shot came from Akraf Hakimi's cross in the 35th minute.
In the 41st minute of the match, Dortmund's Mohamed Dahud fired a powerful shot from outside the penalty area which hit defender, Salif Sane. Guerrero doubled Dortmund's lead in the 44th minute. Guerrero converted Brant's throw ball from the left side of the penalty area.
Dortmund took the lead early in the second half. Thorgen Hazard scored the third goal for Dortmund in the 48th minute. Hazard hit Brant's through pass from outside the penalty area to score his fifth individual goal of the season. Holland was also injured while weaving the move. In the 56th minute, goalkeeper Burki easily saved Bergstall's shot for Schalke.
Guerrero scored his second individual goal in the 62nd minute to make it 4-0. He played an excellent one-to-pass with the Haalnad and a shot from inside the penalty area turned into a goal. Guerrero hit the offside trap and goalkeeper Marcus Subert didn't get a chance to save the shot from the outside foot. In the 73rd minute, Salif Sane could not return the goal as he went above the header post.

With this victory, Dortmund has reduced the gap with top-ranked Bayern Munich to one point. Dortmund has 54 points from 36 games. Bayern, who have played one game less, have added 55 points.
